See the 1st video ever made of a laser moving through the air

Scientists have, for the first time, capturing a video image of a laser beam moving through the air. The experiment was conducted by Heriot-Watt University, UK, and enlisted the help of an ultra high-speed camera capable of detecting individual photons.

The researchers took 10 minutes for the displacement of record 2 million laser pulses, adding individual particle collisions of photons with air to map the entire laser path.

Genevieve Gariepy, who led the experiment, explained the Verge which is usually necessary to observe the laser reflecting on something. This was the first time a ray was filmed directly.
